My Child Did Not Ruin My Body ...

We have all heard women say "my son or daughter destroyed my body!"
To me, this is untrue.
My child has empowered my body.

I love my stretch marks and my scar. It reminds me of the months I spent growing my child and connecting with him. I enjoyed rubbing my belly and feeling his kicks. I love how he grew bigger each and every day, stretching my skin.
My body has become stronger. It has become an incessant canvas of how powerful the female body is. Remember, we do all the work. We are essentially heroes, facing life and death during childbirth, risking our lives for this new life.
We do not press pause for this. We continue our lives while our bodies change and our child(ren) grow(s).
My child did not ruin my body. He improved it. He made it more beautiful.
It only reminds me of what more I can do in life.
Even if I never have my "old" body back, it does not matter. I traded that in for my child.
And I would do it again and again.
